Club Magazine

The magazine is published once a month and should arrive in your letterbox just before each meeting.

It contains details about upcoming events, meetings and who the current office bearers are. There is also a report from the President that lets you know what is going on generally. From time to time there will also be reports from the Editor, Competition Secretary, Treasurer or whoever, as the need arises.

The rest of the magazine is filled with a few ads and articles submitted by members. Some articles are short, one off affairs, others are published as a series, and others are ongoing articles that invite contributions from everyone.

We are always looking for articles for the magazine, so please feel free to write one. You may even be asked to write one by the Editor, articles about you or your car are the most likely thing you will be asked for, of course you don’t have to do it.

Not everyone is good with words, writing an article may not be an option for you but you can still make a contribution by asking the Editor to produce an article for you. For example you may want to know the relative benefits and disadvantages of fitting a Weber Carburettor to your car. The Editor will try and find someone who has the knowledge and experience to write an article for you, and then publish it. You may see a good article in a magazine or on the web, let the Editor know and he may be able to include a copy in the magazine.

If you do wish to put something in the magazine, be it a 10 000 word document or a "For Sale" ad, there are a number of ways of doing it. The best way is to email your article to the Editor at hotbricks@bigbutton.com.au. The Car Club has a computer which can handle all versions of "Microsoft Word". If you don’t have Word send the document as a text file. If you have access to a computer but not email, save the article on a disc and hand it to the Editor at a meeting. If you don’t have access to any of the technology mentioned above just write your article on paper and we will deal with it. Articles can be posted to the Editor at P.O. Box 162, Marden S.A. 5070

The club also has a scanner so we can reproduce any pictures that you may have. On the subject of pictures if you are taking pictures at a Mini event ask for two sets of prints when you get them processed, it only costs a few dollars more and the club will refund that to you if you like.
